The New Generation
1986 -  forward

When Michael Eisner came to the Disney Company in 1986 he brought a new team and a reinvigorated spirit to the animation department.
With the success of The Great Mouse Detective, the roll began and a new era of animated film came into being.
Fresh stories and new techniques broke the traditional style and the final film to use traditional cel animation was "The Little Mermaid" in 1989.

With the release of Beauty and the Beast in 1991 the new computer cel painting technique was refined...
and the results were new Disney magic
